Michael K. Kolenda
PhD, FACHE, Vice President of Process Improvement (VPPI)
Mike Kolenda assists healthcare organizations with implementing and/or improving service delivery programs and systems related to outpatient clinical care, staff training and development. He has a particular interest in outpatient clinical settings, both medical and behavioral, especially those involving Community Health Centers.
Dr. Kolenda has spent over 40 years in the healthcare field as a clinician, manager, or senior administrator. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist in Indiana, he received a Master’s and a Doctoral degree in Counseling & Guidance from the University of Alabama.
Mike has been a Vice President for community health services in two hospital systems. In the behavioral health field, he:
- served as the Administrator of a psychiatric facility,
- directed a managed mental health care network,
- developed and administered several Employee Assistance Programs, and
- served as the Clinical Director of a residential, chemical dependency treatment facility.
From 2003 to 2019, Dr. Kolenda served as the CEO of Windrose Health Network, a Federally Qualified Health Center, located in central Indiana and comprised of seven Health Center locations with 30+ clinical providers.
Throughout his career, Mike has initiated and led start-up, health care efforts that became successful business ventures both clinically and fiscally. He routinely assembled, managed, and grew work teams that were mission-driven, clinically effective, quality-focused, and financially successful.
